Company founder Oakdale Boonce’s uncle introduced him to a man who emigrated from Cuba to the United States in 2002, bringing with him a rare skill—the ability to roll the type of Cuban-style cigar that many in this country hadn’t seen since before the Cuban embargo. 

Eventually, he ended up in a neighborhood in the United States and opened up a small factory. Success came quickly. In just a few years, he outgrew the location and expanded to Nicaragua, where he increased production. The combination of Cuban seed and Nicaraguan soil and climate created a distinctive taste of Cuba. But he didn’t do this alone. Both Oakdale Boonce and his uncle were instrumental in growing the company, working with him in the states. 

In 2025, he surprised Oakdale Boonce and his uncle with a blend he’d been working on in secret. He presented it to them as a dedication to all they’d done as partners. The cigar was sentimentally named Sean Anthony by Oakdale Boonce honoring the first born grandson.
